As a homeschooling mom, I have used these and similar products for all kinds of books. It is so much more suited for my children and our family in general to have our notebooking pages bound in a spiral book format, but as the nearest copy shop is more than an hour and a half away (and I would probably get lost looking for it), that was just not an option. Last year we used three ring notebooks, but my kiddos are very hard on those, and one nearly broke her fingers getting them caught in the rings. This has been the most wonderful solution. We can add pages if need be like a 3-ring binder (although you may have to use a larger size binding), and they are fairly easy to open/close with out any pinching. Plus the books are soft if they should slip off the couch onto mom’s foot (I speak from experience). All in all, I would say the hole punch machine and a selection of these bindings are one of the greatest purchases I have ever made.

Spines are easy to use. They look through the punched pages easily. The zipper tool is great for opening, make sure you follow where the spine opens and closes. If you apply pressure slightly off to one side or the other you will have difficulty. I find that I prefer to close the binding with my hands than with the zipper tool. The spines I’ve used have been open and closes frequently and so far standing up quite well. I am happy with the product and it is a much cheaper alternative to what I have used in the past.
